New Mexico Antelope hunting on private ranches

100% SUCCESS IN 2007

New Mexico has an extremely large population of pronghorn antelope. Hunters do not need to draw for a license when hunting on private land.

Rifle Antelope areas produce a high percentage of trophy animals. In fact a few will qualify for the Boone and Crockett books. This is one of the most interesting and enjoyable hunts offered that provides a high success of harvesting a trophy animal. Antelope hunts are an excellent experience for the first-time western hunter. Prospective rifle hunters should consider investing in a quality bipod, to increase shooting accuracy. Most years this hunt runs 100% success on harvest.

Our ranches comprise more than 120,000 acres and receive very little hunting pressure. Hunters can expect to see 75 or more antelope during their hunt. Licenses are guaranteed with our private landowner permits.

Hunting Methods

The best method is to cover a lot of ground via 4WD vehicle or on foot, stopping frequently to glass the large herds of antelope. Through careful evaluation we can then determine the best way to stalk the herd. The average shot is around 200 yards and we are currently using the ShadowShield to get our hunters as close as possible to the game. These hunts are conducted at specified times determined by NMG&F usually in mid-August and mid-September. We have a limited number of archery hunts available as well, contact Ken for more information about archery hunts.
